The Invisalign method supports the use of aligners. The aligners apply a controlled amount of force on each tooth, depending on which teeth need to be adjusted and in which manner. The amount of aligners that you will need is based on the degree of support required in your case. However, under normal circumstances the number ranges from about 18 to 30.
As you progress through the series of aligners, your teeth will move in small increments until they are positioned to a desired placement. The time that it takes to achieve ideal results varies from person to person, depending on how severe the problem is. Under normal conditions, clear braces take about the same time to work as do traditional fixed braces.
Each set of aligners are to be worn for 2 to 3 weeks, depending on how many are in the series.
The treatment period varies from about 6 months to 18 months.
